Easy, freehand Halloween pumpkin nail art!

Hello everyone, I have another Halloween nail design- a cute pumpkin nail art design for you all today. I wanted to show a nail art design, that is easy and simple to do, to show you all how simple it can be, to be able to create nail art, even if you think you can't. :)

A look back at the freehand Halloween nails I did last year!

I knew I wanted to do a nail design, incorporating pumpkins somehow and knew that I wanted to include 1 of my favourite nail polish colours from last year as well. Of course the beautiful glitter orange by Ciate, I mean just look at it, it is so beautiful.

So, for today's nails I wanted to do a bit of nail art, and so thought I would attempt to some freehand, Halloween pumpkins. I decided I wanted to use the Ciate orange polish for the pumpkins too, as thought it would tie in nicely with the orange being on the other nails. So, thought I would do a black base with the freehand pumpkins on 3 of the nails and then the orange polish on the other 2 nails.

I was debating if I wanted to put something on the orange nails as well, and in the end decided to do a little black pumpkin stamp on them too. The stamps did go off to the side a little bit, which was a little annoying, but that's ok as it's a Halloween design and they don't need to be perfect I say, hehe!

How I did it-

* Painted on a base coat- ( Nails inc Kale base coat )

* Applied chosen polishes-2 coats of each, wait to dry. ( Orange polish- Ciate 'beach hut' & the black polish is an old one from New look. )

* Applied a top coat to help speed up drying time- ( Nails inc Kensington Caviar top coat )

* I did the freehand pumpkins first of all, for this I drew the outline of the pumpkin, creating a circle shape & then filled it in with the orange polish. Then drew the little green stalk on too using a green nail art pen I had-just kind of winged this and created a stalk like shape.

* I did have to do 2nd coat of the orange polish for the pumpkin to be filled in properly and it did take a bit of time to dry. So, whilst I was waiting for this to dry, I decided to do the little pumpkin stamp on the other 2 nails, using the Halloween Moyoulondon stamping plate no.53.

* Then once the pumpkin was basically dry, I went in with the New look black polish and a little nail art brush and drew the faces on. Now with the faces, they didn't all really go to plan, but I just kind of went with it as I feel like there isn't really any set rules on how they should look, just do what you like really. I just blobbed the eyes on, did a little nose and then drew the mouth on how I wanted to do really, haha! Just have fun with them and practice makes perfect.

* Then once nails are fully dry, seal it all with a top coat-just make sure they are definitely dry.

Considering this was my first try with the pumpkins, I was really happy with how these turned out and love the little pumpkins. What do you all think of these ones, let me know in the comments?

  1. The pumpkins you have painted freehand are so cute. Halloween looks definitely don't need to look all neat and tidy! The design of the pumpkin from the stamp is adorable too! That orange nail polish is SO pretty, love it!
