Trying out a nail art design from the Ciate book of style-my version!

Hello everyone, I am finally back with a new blog post and a new nail design. The last few weeks I haven't been feeling very well, as that illness went on for over a month, but thankfully it seems to have passed now. But I have also been struggling with my anxiety quite a lot too, so kind of lost motivation to do my nails or my blog, as I just didn't feel inspired to do it at all. But I am slowly getting there again and will hopefully be back to regularly posting twice a week again.

Anyways I am back today with a nail design I have created. If you have seen in a previous blog post, I did a nail look from the Ciate book, where I followed the step by steps to try and re-create the look. I thought I would do that again today with a different design, as this one is a pastel nail look and thought it was perfect for this lovely weather we have been having. However, I was a little confused at how they did there's and so just ended up creating my own pastel creation. But that's ok as that is the point of nails, you get inspired and then create and do your own thing aye, haha!

For this nail design, it's called Pastel power and consists of a white base colour, with lots of pastel colours sponged over the top of it. The Ciate design looked more speckled and not as splodge on as mine, if that makes sense. I did actually attempt this nail design twice but the first time I wasn't as happy with it so thought I would re-try it and happier with how it turned out today, even if it does look different to the original, but I like taking a nail design and putting my own spin on it.
I used quite a few different polishes for this design, I went for a mixture of pastel blue and green, coral pink, pink, lilac and a iridescent mermaid polish to just finish it off and add a little shimmer.

Top L-R- Ciate After Party, Opi I Believe In Manicures, Ciate Ibiza Blues, Nars Thasos.
Botton L-R- Jessica Ocean Bloom, Nails inc Old Park Lane, Ciate Pretty In Putty.

To create the look was fairly simple, but does take a little bit of time to sponge on all the colours.
All I did was:
* Paint on a base coat, then apply 2-3 coats of the white base coat and allow to dry.
* I cut up little pieces of a sponge, and using a pair of tweezers to hold the sponge, I popped on a small amount of the colour and gently dabbed on the different colours to each nail. I used a different bit of sponge for each colour. I used the pale blue first, then followed by the pink, green, coral pink, lilac and the iridescent colour. Each time I waited a little bit for each colour to dry.
*Then applied a top coat once it had dried a bit.

It was fairly easy to do, and I think it turned out really pretty. However, I think I am going to keep on practicing to try and get the speckled finished that they got in the book. But it was fun to do and I love all the pastel colours together.

Let me know in the comments what you think of the design I created and if you have ever tried anything like this before. Hope you all have a lovely week, and are enjoying this lovely weather we have been having, how lovely has it been aye. :)
