Pretty pink flower & blue bird nail art water decals from Charlie's nail art!

Happy Monday everyone, hope you all had a lovely weekend and have a great week. :) As the weekend ended up being quite busy, I didn't end up getting round to putting up a new blog post over the weekend, but I am back today with a pretty water decal nail design.

If you have seen some of my past blog posts, where I tried out full on nail art water wraps, then you will have seen how much I loved them and how easy they are to do, once you get the hang of it. Well today, I had some nail art water decals that I have been wanting to try out from Charlie's nail art, and thought I would give these a try. These are slightly different in the fact that they aren't a full on wrap that covers the whole nail, but instead they are smaller and you place them over a nail polish colour. It's still the same concept, as in that you cut it out and place it into water still, these in some sense are probably a bit easier and a good place to start if you have never used water art decals before.

I think these pink flower & blue bird water decals are so pretty and delicate, so I decided to put them over a pretty pink colour for a full on summer effect and I thought it would tie in best with the colours of the decals. The polish used is nails inc polish called 'Miami hot', Base coat used-Opi natural nail, Top coat used-Seche vite. Top coat is definitely a essential when using water decals as it seals it all in and honestly makes them last so much longer, and smooths them into place.

The simple steps to doing this- ( I would recommend cutting the decals out first before painting your nails, so they are ready to go and you don't end up knocking the polish )

* Paint on base coat.
* Apply 2 coats of chosen colour.
*Wait for the nail polish to completely dry.
* Once polish is dry, take the chosen nail decal, remove the clear protective sheet from the top of the decal and plunge it into a bowl of water for 20-30 seconds until decal slides off backing paper.
*Place decal on to the nail, smooth down gently and soak up excess water gently with a paper towel, then allow to dry for a few seconds.
*Then apply the topcoat to finish.

I highly recommend using water decals as they are so easy to apply, and they look so pretty on the nails when you just want a little bit of nail art, but is quick and lasts on the nails for a while. I would always chose the water decals now over normal wraps/decals, as they just sit more smoothly on the nails and don't lift at the corners etc.

Have any of you tried out nail art water wraps/ decals before, if so what do you think of them? What do you think of these pretty flower & blue bird decals? I love them and think they look so pretty on and are perfect for summer.
