Love hearts & Florals nail design!

Hello everyone, hope you all have enjoyed some lovely pancakes yesterday! I definitely did, hehe! As seen as it is Valentine's day today, I thought I would do another love themed nail design. I wanted to do something a bit different, and feel this design can be worn at anytime of the year really, not just for Valentine's day as love is all around.

As my last nail art design that I posted the other day was definitely more girly and pink, I wanted to create a design a little less subtle today. So, I decided to go along the red theme and do a mixture of a dark red with the contrast of a brighter red. I wasn't really to sure what I wanted to do, but had a few polishes and nail stamp designs in mind. Sometimes when doing a nail look, it's not always planned and you just have to go with the flow of it and see how it turns out, which is definitely what happened with my look today.

Products I used today: Brighter red polish- Ciate's 'Boudoir', Dark red polish- Nails inc 'Status Ready', Nails inc floral overcoat-' Chelsea Embankment Gardens', Moyoulondon Henna stamping plate no.02, white polish for dots along with a small dotting tool, Moyou's stamping polish 'Ginger Rust'.

I decided to do a bit of a mixture of designs. I love the floral overcoat polish, so really wanted to create a look around this. So, I decided to do a mixture of the dark and bright red polish, with the floral overcoat over the dark red polish and the gold heart stamp with white polka dots on the bright red. I love that the Nails inc floral polish has little flowers in it too, which I thought added to the the design and effect with the heart stamp. I felt the heart stamp on it's own looked a little to plain. so decided to do some little white polka dots around them, which I thought drew the whole look together.

How I did it:

  • Applied the base coat using Nails inc Kensington Caviar base coat.
  • Applied 2 coats of both nail colours-decided to do 3 nails with the bright red polish and 2 with the dark red polish.
  • Applied Seche Vite top coat and let it dry, then applied the floral overcoat polish over the dark red polish, you kind of have to scoop around to get the flowers out.
  • Chose this pretty heart stamp to go over the bright red & decided to do it metallic, stamped this on first then dotted on the white dots, using my dotting tool.
  • Apply top coat again to seal it all in.

I am pretty happy with how this came out, considering I didn't really know what I wanted to do, although I did have a few issues with the stamp going in the right place, and tried the dots out in black first on the thumb but didn't like it, so had to re-do that nail but that is what nails are about, all trail and error, that's the fun of it. Hope you all love the design, let me no in the comments what you think? Have you all got any nice plans for Valentine's day?
