Stars & Moon Nail Stamp Design Using Moyou's Scandi Plate!
Happy Sunday everyone, hope you all have had a lovely weekend and looking forward to a new week! Anyone else feel like this week has gone by so fast? I have a nail stamping design for you all today. As I was doing a nail design from all the recent MoyouLondon stamping plates, I noticed that I hadn't done one in a while and needed to do a nail design from the Scandi plate.
So, as I recently brought one of the pretty Nails inc dirty unicorn polishes, I knew I wanted to create a design over it and thought this stamping plate would be perfect as it kind of reminds me of a sort of galaxy, metallic colour, which I thought the stars & moon would fit perfectly with- if you kind of get what I mean..
If you follow my blog or social media, you will probably know me by now and know that I like to mix things up a bit when it comes to a nail design, and that I rarely just do one colour but usually a mix up and that is exactly what I have done today as usual, because why not aye, hehe! I decided to do a mixture of a dark, purple metallic with a dark, bluey green colour, for like a night time/galaxy effect. I decided to do the star stamp in a metallic, rusty gold colour & the moon/mountain stamp in white.
Products used- Nails inc dirty unicorn nail polish 'shake that tail', OPI nail polish 'suzi says feng shui', Moyoylondon scandi stamping plate no.09, Moyoulondon stamping polishes 'ginger rust' & 'white knight', Nails inc kensington caviar base coat, Seche vite top coat.
How I did it:
Step 1- Applied Nails inc base coat.
Step 2- Applied 2 coats of both the Nails inc & OPI nail colours. Chose to do 3 of the nails with the purple & 2 with the bluey, green colour.
Step 3- To help dry the polish quicker and to give the stamp a base, so it doesn't smudge the colour underneath, I always pop a top coat on before doing the stamps.
Step 4- using the moyoulondon stamper, applied the chosen stamps. Chose to do the moon/mountain stamp in white over the polish-so stamped these on first then decided to do the star stamp in the rusty gold colour and stamped this on after.
Step 5- Then I normally seal it all in with the top coat again but usually wait a little while before doing it, otherwise sometimes it can smudge the stamp.
I really love this nail design and how it turned out, as I really love the effect the dark metallic purple polish gives to the mountain and the moon stamp, like it is glistening in the night time, makes it seem quite magical. I think adding the rusty gold colour for the star stamp, really pulls the look all in together and the dark bluey, green polish links in with the metallic purple polish, as in different lights it can have a green metallic shimmer to it.
Hope you all love it too, let me no what you think in the comments? & which is your favourite bit to the nail design?
