A get to know me Q&A style!

Hello everyone, hope you are all doing well and having a lovely week so far.
I thought as it is coming up to 6 months of doing my blog, it was probably about time I did a little Q & A style post, so you all can get to know a little bit more about the person behind Chansbeautycorner and all the pretty nails. I am a very private person normally as that is just how I am and I just find it a bit awkward talking about myself, but wanted to do this so you can all find out a little bit more about me ( if you would like to that is, hehe ).

So, let's jump straight to the questions- as I like to answer questions fully-this may be a bit of a long one as I do like to write a lot, oopsie....

What is your full name?  
Chantelle Louise White. ( yes, I have the very standard middle name that I swear everyone in my year had, haha ).

How old are you & when is your birthday?
I am currently 26 & my birthday is on the 25th June. I honestly can't believe I am 26 near enough 27 already, time really does fly by as you get older. & even though I was born in June & I know I am quite lucky to normally get the sun on my birthday, I actually am not a massive fan of the summer and don't really enjoy it being to hot. I know, I know but everyone is different aye.

Where are you from?
A little city called Bath in England. Let me know in the comments if you have ever been to Bath, as it seems to be a lot of people's places to visit. And even though when I was younger I thought Bath wasn't that great, as there wasn't much to do for children, as I have grown up I actually really love it here now and think it's a wonderful place to live.

Do you have any brother's & Sister's?
I sure do, you may say quite a lot. As I am actually 1 of 6 kids. I have 3 brother's & 2 Sister's. My mum and dad sure did have their work cut out with us all, I don't know how they did it, haha! & were very lucky to get 3 of each, although for a while I was the only girl as the last 2 girls were the last 2 out. I am the 2nd child of them all and it is so crazy to see all the younger ones growing up, hehe!

Do you have any animals?
Yep, we have 3 cats-1 black cat called Brusier, 1 black & white girl cat called Minstrel and 1 ginger cat called Nugget. Yep we named all our cats after chocolate and sweets, not really to sure why but we were young when they were born. Fun fact I watched these cats be born as their mum chose me to be her midwife very early in the morning, and let me tell you it was a very strange thing to witness especially as she panickd with the first one and span round with the kitten half out, haha! Don't worry they were all o'k. We do also have a little dog, a chiniwah named snowy, he is such a cute dog.

What is your favourite animal ever?
I am obessed and absloutley love penguins. I always have done but more in the last few years, not really sure where the obession came from but they are just so cute, I adore them. I do also love cats, bunnies and pandas too tho.

Did you go to College/University, if so what did you study? 
After school finished, I was pretty much done with education and university was just not somewhere I wanted to go, so instead chose to go to College and study Hair & Beauty for a 2 year course at the City of Bath College. I kind of knew what I wanted to do, as I always wanted to be a hairdresser and do makeup but wasn't sure if I maybe wanted to do the beauty side too, so chose to do both as this course was offered at the time. But funnily enough, I actually didn't really enjoy the hairdressing side as much and preferred doing the beauty side, so after completing that course, after the 2 years, I went on to do my advanced level 3 beauty therapy and pretty much haven't looked back since.

What was your first job?
My first job was at Jane Norman, where I worked for I think around or just over 3 years. Who remembers Jane Norman aye, haha! It was o'k there, especially when I first started but let's just say I hope to never have to work in retail again, but the best part was I met some lovely people there with whom 1 of them I am still really close friends with to this day and actually one of my besties, hehe!

But if I was to say what my first beauty job was, it was actually working for Nails inc in Debenhams when it first opened up, this was where my obsession for Nails inc came from and why I had so many of there polishes. Don't get me wrong, I love Nails inc but I quickly came to realise that working in a department store and traffic stopping was not for me at all, which I was very sad about as I was so excited to work for Nails inc but aye I guess some things just aren't meant to be.

Did you go into what you wanted to do after college/uni?
I have pretty much been in the beauty industry since I finished college and have pretty much loved it, some ups and downs but that is pretty normal for any job really ain't it. I've worked for Nails inc in a department store, been in a few beauty salons and after qualifying my dream was to work in a Spa and after a few years of gaining experience and being qualified I managed to get into a spa and worked at the Macdonald Bath Spa Hotel for just over 3 years. I did love it there and gained so much experience, but sadly towards the end it wasn't that great, and I was in quite a lot of pain due to all the massaging and ended up with repetitive strain injury, which if you have read my first personal post you will know a little about.

Why did you start your blog?
When I first started it many years ago, it was mainly for beauty reviews, nails and makeup related stuff, but then when I re-started last year and I love doing nails so much, I decided to start of mainly doing nails but still want to include makeup/skincare reviews etc, as it's just kind of my little corner of the internet about all beauty related things. My main thing is to show everyone how easy it can be to do nail art and inspire others to get into doing nails and to also do a few more personal blog posts about anxiety, so people know it's o'k to talk and they aren't alone.

What's your main goal for 2018?
To be self-employed doing nails and bridal makeup, with hopefully my blog included in some way. & to control my anxiety, and not let it control me. Just want to fight it and be a bit more happier, doing what I love and feel more free.


Hope you all enjoyed reading through the questions and finding out my answers. Some are very long but I guess that is another thing you have learnt about me, that I like to write a lot sometimes, as I just love writing hence why I kind of started a blog, hehe! But hopefully you found out a little bit more about me and I will have more Q&A's up in the future if you all enjoyed it. This was just a little basic starter and I am thinking of doing a blog and nail one too.
