Shattered glass nail design with a mini how too!

Hello everyone, hope your having a wonderful, lazy Sunday. Today has felt like it has gone by so quick, because of the clocks going forward, I am definitely feeling tired from losing the hour but it looks lovely and bright out there, so hopefully that means Spring is on it's way.

If you love nails and follow many nail accounts for inspiration, you more than likely have seen the shattered glass/ broken glass nail designs floating around. After, I seen them a few times, I loved how it looked and so wanted to try it out for myself and it really is quite easy to do, a bit fiddly but once you get the hang of it, it's fairly simple. So, I thought as I have been trying it out and did post up a picture a while back of one of the designs I did and lots of people loved it, I thought I would do a post today explaining how I did it and how you too can do it if you are wanting to try it out.

The first shattered glass nail design I attempted over Nails inc dirty unicorns purple polish called 'Shake that Tail'

First shattered glass nail design I attempted a little back above, where I chose to use a purple iridescent polish with Charlie's nail art angel paper in a pink colour. I love that because of the iridescent purple underneath makes the angel paper more iridescent purple than pink too.

Products used in today's Spring inspired nail design, Ciate's polishes L-R 'Lucky 7' & 'Cupcake queen'

As I mentioned above I have done it before and posted it on my Instagram but wanted to try it out again today, as I have a different colour to try and wanted to do more Spring inspired nails today using it. I use the angel paper from Charlies nail art for the shattered glass nail art as I love how many colours they have to choose from and at a good price too. Today's angel paper is the red one. I think this nail design just adds such a different look to the nails but not being to over the top, just looks really lovely on. I love as well how you can just do it how ever you want, by adding as much or as little of the paper to the nails, depending on what kind of design you want to achieve with it.

Spring inspired shattered nail design.

For today's nail design I decided to go for a brighter pinky colour under the angel paper, and chose to only do 3 nails with it on and the other nails's in a darker pink polish colour, as I love the way this looks. It then is just quite simple to do really. Just paint the nails with the chosen colours, once the 2nd coat is on, wait for it to go a bit tacky and then stick the angel paper to the nails however you like. I would recommend that you cut the angel paper into desired shape beforehand, so you have them ready to place on the nails. I cut bigger and smaller pieces then just kind of followed the shapes so they all sat quite nicely against each other.

I would also say that the angel paper does stick to the polish but if you are wanting to wear this for a little while, then nail glue would probably be best or I just stuck down any edges with a little bit of top coat. Also make sure to apply a top coat afterwards to secure it all in. And there we have some pretty shattered glass Spring inspired nail art.

Hope you found this a bit useful, as with anything practice makes perfect and just have fun doing this if you decide to give the shattered glass design a go. If you do let me no in the comments and if you have ever attempted it before? Let me know out of the two looks I created is your favourite too?
