My top 3 favourite foundations, perfect for dry skin!

Hello everyone, hope you are all having a lovely week so far. I am finally able to sit and do a new blog post, as I am finally feeling a little bit better, touch wood. As well as the cold I had, I also have been suffering with constant migraines over the last 3 days which have been horrible but hopefully it is all starting to go away now.

For today's post, I wanted to speak a bit about my favourite foundations that I love and use consistently. And if like me, you suffer with dry/ sensitive skin this may help you to find a new foundation perfect for your skin type. For a little insight to what kind of makeup I like, I am one of those that don't really like full on foundation every day and so mainly wear a more natural look, as I just don't like the feel of a heavy foundation. I should also mention that I am not really a fan of a matte foundation and prefer a more dewy finish, this is probably due to the fact that my skin is dry so it needs something more dewy/ hydrating. So, 2 of these are more lighter coverage and 1 is more full coverage.

Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation:

First up is probably my all time favourite that I have been using for so many years now, as it's just one of those foundations that I love and keep buying when it runs out. The Benefit foundation is so lovely on my skin and lasts so well on my skin. The main reason that I love this one is purely the fact that it is so hydrating and doesn't make my skin look dry or flaky. It goes on so lovely and smooths over my dry patches so nicely.  As I am on the paler side I get this foundation in the shade ' Believe in me Ivory' and it seems to be a perfect for for me. It looks darker in the bottle but comes out a bit lighter than that. The foundation is priced at £30.00 currently, but I know that Lookfantastic and Feelunique websites do sometimes have discounts going on, which is where I normally shop.

What Benefit say about it:
A brightening liquid foundation that builds from light to medium coverage for a natural complexion, it's you just more luminous & healthy looking. Key points- oil free, hydrating benefits and Broad spectrum SPF 25 PA***.

My overall thoughts:
I definitely agree that it is hydrating on the skin but doesn't look oily, but definitely gives the skin a lovely glow and as is very natural looking, not cakey at all. It is fairly light coverage which I personally love but can be built up for a little bit more coverage. My skin doesn't react to it at all, even with my sensitive skin and I can get a bit of redness, which is covers quite nicely but do still put a bit of concealer over any redness still showing through and on any blemishes. Also, I think it is great that it has SPF 25 in it already, which is a added bonus. I highly recommend this product if you like a light coverage, dewy looking skin and have dry skin.

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation luminous, for normal to dry skin:

Next up is a drugstore one and not to expensive, which I love. I actually find it quite hard finding a decent foundation from the drugstore, as they are normally to matte for me or the colours just aren't right for me a lot of the time. I can't really say that I have ever found one that I have compleley loved from the drugstore, until I found this Maybelline one. After looking around, it looks like they no longer sell this foundation which I am gutted about but if you like matte foundation they still have that one available. I thought I would still talk about this as it has been one of my favourites for a while and it still looks like it is available in the US on their website.

What Maybelline say about it:
A dewy foundation with SPF 18 that hydrates and smooths skin texture. Leaves a naturally luminous finish.

My overall thoughts:
I really love this foundation as it's pretty good coverage, so when I want something a little bit more for the daytime, I tend to go for this one as I would say it medium coverage but still looks very natural. Not to oily, but just enough dewiness and give the skin a lovely natural glow. I wouldn't say this is as glowy as the Benefit one, so nice if you don't really like to powder to much. I also love how it sits nicely over dry skin, kind of smooths it over and even outs any rough skin texture too. The only thing I would say about this foundation is that, it doesn't always last as long on my skin and can sometimes sink into my dry patches after a good few hours but not always. Either way I have used this foundation for a while now and if we could still get it over here, then I would still buy it.

Laura Mercier Silk Creme Moisturizing Foundation:

Last but not least my favourite more fuller coverage foundation. I am pretty sure most people have heard about this foundation as everyone seems to love it and well I can see why, it is amazing and so lovely. This is the foundation I go to when I want full coverage and is usually my evening/ going out foundation. This is definitely more on the pricier side but I personally think it is worth it. The Laura Mercier foundation is priced at £35.00 and I get it in the colour Rose Ivory.

What Laura Mercier say about it:
Long wearing formula with a high pigment that provides 12 hours of full coverage wear, while feeling comfortable on the skin and hiding even hard to cover imperfections. Medium to full coverage, with a photo ready, natural luminous finish.

My overall thoughts:
If you have dry skin and worried that a full coverage foundation may look cakey on you, then I highly recommend that you go and get yourself and invest in the Laura Mercier foundation. As even though this is full coverage, as it says in the name it is very moisturizing and honestly feels so lovely on the skin and still looks very natural. It glides over your skin and literally covers everything, and best bit you really don't need a lot of this product as it goes far. It honestly just leaves the skin looking flawless and when it says it ling lasting, it really is. I must also mention that it really doesn't feel heavy on the skin at all and doesn't really feel like I am wearing any foundation when I have this on, it feels so light and like it's letting the skin breathe, not being suffocated. It gives a nice glow to the skin whilst not being to much or to oily. I honestly can't recommend this foundation enough for us dry skinned girls.
