Christmas prezzies & festive dots nail art!

Hello everyone, can you believe we are over half way to Christmas now, it has gone by so fast!
Today I though I would do some freehand nail art and as I had such a lovely colour from the Ciate advent calendar today, I thought I would use it to create something christmassey. So, I chose to have a go at doing Christmas prezzies and some festive dots on some of the fingers.

The pretty colour I am on about is this new beautiful Ciate polish called 'moondust'- a very pretty purple, iridescent, metallic shimmer with gold and a hint of green running through it. Just look at it, I am in love with this amazing colour, I just love how it sparkles and looks different colours depending on what light you are in, as you can probably tell if you regularly read my posts that these kind of colours are my sort of colours and some of my favourite to wear.

The other products I used today were- Nails inc base coat, nail art brushes from ebay, Nails inc red polish 'aspen', Nail art pens by NPW and Seche Vite top coat.

I wanted to do a present kind of nail art look as I thought a bow over this beautiful colour would look really nice as it is sparkly like a Christmas prezzie and thought to tie the look in I would do green and red dots for the festive colours and to kind of give a wrapping paper sort of look as to represent dotty wrapping paper. I did actually start the present bow with my nail art brush and the red polish but then decided to go over it with the red nail art pen to make it a bit more glittery.

How I did it-

  •  Painted on my base coat
  •  Applied 2 coats of the Ciate nail polish and waited for it to dry.
  • I then did the two present bows first by just drawing one line straight down and one line across quite thick, like a cross shape. Then drew the bow on, doing 2 circles at the top and 2 more straight lines at the bottom.
  • I then went over it with the red nail art pen.
  • Then whilst that was drying I done the little dots on the other fingers using my nail art pens, starting with the red and doing the dots straight across and then doing the same with the green.
  • I then finished with applying the Seche vite top coat but did this after a little while.

Even though this look can be a bit time consuming, if you enjoy being creative these are fairly easy to try out as they are pretty simple and I love how Christmassey these look as I love all the colours paired together and the sparkly polish underneath.
I would say that if using polish you need to wait for the polish to dry in between and the red polish did go a bit funny over the colour underneath so be careful to not drag the brush when doing the present and if you do have a red nail art pen I would recommend going over it with that to make it more even.

Thank you for visiting my little corner of the web. 😊💜
