It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas & penguin nail art!
Hello everyone, happy Sunday! How crazy that this time next week it will be Christmas Eve, hehe!
Today I have another Christmas nail art look for you with a mix of nail stamping and freehand nail art. I really wanted to do some penguin nail art as penguins are my favourite animals and very fitting for a Christmas nail look and I brought the look together with a very festive nail stamp using a gorgeous metallic colour.
I based this look around the very pretty dark purple plum colour I got in my Ciate calendar yesterday. The colour is called 'reign supreme' and I paired it with a black nail polish from new look as the base colour for the penguins.
I started this look off by applying Nails inc base coat then painting both the purple and black nail polish-doing 2 coats of these and then applying the Seche Vite top coat and allowing the polish to dry. As mentioned in a previous post, I love this top coat for nail art looks especially as it dries so quickly meaning you don;t have to wait ages to the nail art/ nail stamp.
I first went in with doing the nail stamping, I used the Moyoulondon festive stamping plate no.45 and chose to use the stamp saying 'it's beginning to look alot like Christmas' as well you know it isn't far away, eeeee! I really wanted to try out the new Moyoulondon metallic stamping polish I had brought recently and thought it would be perfect over the dark purple colour. The colour is called 'ginger rust' and I thought it just looked so christmassey with the penguin. I stamped it on the 3 fingers and it came out really nicely and applied the top coat over it once it was dry.
Then I moved on to the 2 penguins which I did love creating. I started off with doing the white middle bit by using a small dotting tool and drew the outline of the round shape, then filling it in with the brush from the nail polish-I did go over this again once it was dry to make it look more white and not so black and patchy. I then dotted on the 2 eyes with a small dotting tool and once dry using a even smaller dotting tool I dotted the little black pupils on. Once the middle white bit was dry I used a small nail art brush and drew on the little nose and feet at the bottom with a orange polish. Both polishes used were from Nails inc.I waited a bit for them to dry and then finished off with the top coat-make sure you wait for it too dry for a bit sol it doesn't smudge when putting the top coat on.
This is one of my favourite nail art looks I have created so far, I think the penguins look so cute and pretty please with how they turned out considering it was my first time attempting them on my own nails and I love how the metallic festive stamp looks over the dark purple colour, so festive!
What was your favourite part to this look?
I will be back Monday, with a round up of the Ciate advent calendar from the past week-keep a eye out for it to see what other pretty colours were in it.
